We moved to the farm in 2002 just before the birth of our third child, having moved from Sydney the previous year looking to escape the city. Initially we just wanted some space to raise our children in the country. The children are now almost all adults and moved away from the farm for further study.
Over time, we looked at ways to start a small business on our property. After a few cheese making courses, we dived in and bought a Jersey cow and then 10 lambs to start learning how to make cheese. Since then we have built up our flock of sheep and seasonally produce cheese and yoghurt for our local area. Our ewes are milked through the summer season, typically from September to March.
We completed our first farmstay cottage in 2012 allowing people to come and stay on the property and share a part of our wonderful life.
